Went and got the kit today. Hopefully i didnt forget anything. Thinking some of the round air box stuff is missing but shouldnt be a problem. Turbo shaft does have a little play. Got a pyro gauge too. Probe is in the up pipe. Should i move it to manifold or look for egt max at a lower temp than 1150? Turbo kit, full headlight and turn assembly for my 96, overflow and washer tank for $260.
i left them in the turbo pedestal where banks put them on both my trucks.just set your fuel with max gross so she stays under 1050 like instructions say.
i have maxed n/a pumps w/intercoolers and peak 900 with chip.probably lower with log truck cus she revs in the power band even in od lol.haven't used it enough to know the truck yet.....plus she needs a tune up still anyway.
250, you mentioned gaskets and grommet in your install. I couldnt get old grommet out. It had hardened. Do i need any of those gaskets. Do you still have part numbers handy. Will try to post some pics soon.
sorry man.been working like a dog lately.then after work, working some more on my trans lol.like two jobs and i can't even keep up on the first one.
the oil drain grommet you mean? yeah,no surprise there.you install that with rtv so she was likely pretty sealed.yes, for sure.you'll want the gasket kit.
that should come in handy as well.
snaponprofile has a banks sidewinder install thread and eaton (what was his full screen name? darn.hmm.) well advanced search those users here should help too.they both have good banks install threads that no doubt will be helpful too.
that one in log truck thread is pretty detailed but you'll find other tips and tricks and issues resolved etc from others experiences.all good stuff.
Well the guy let me and a friend take it off so that will help. Seems getting that uppipe foot setting on block is a key point to geting things to fit.
Should i sand or wire brush all the flanges? See any thing missing? Got most bolts and nuts in a jug not pictured. Anyone know of a k&n filter that replaces banks?
yeah it's made by k&n if i recall correctly.it's washable and re-oil it using the k&n wash/oil kits.
iv been running k&n filters since the early 90's in my cars and trucks.cheaper in the long run and it saves a tree or two lol.
I've found that the standard 4" K&N filter they sell at the auto parts store is a little longer than that one, but as long as you remove the cold-air intake, it works just fine.
Alternately, I've been running this Ebay knock-off filter:

I got it expecting to throw it away when it gets dirty, because when I got it my engine was covering the intake in oil. However, it's lasted for quite a while, and I don't see any holes, so...
