there is a difference between a manual transmission starter and an automatic trans starter if you put the wrong one in it might have chewed up you flywheel teeth
HA! I was disappointed when no one picked up on the most important point in my thread...glad it was better late than never.
Status: new battery as well as cables and she's back to leaking fluid in my driveway instead of the street.
You guys ever had to clean trans fluid off driveway pavers? F'n HOA says I have to clean the driveway or face fines.

Oh yes I do. Made the mistake of pointing a tranny cooler line down so that the rain couldn't go into the tranny. Came home from work to see this. Never did quite manage to fully clean it. All it did was give the entire driveway an oil film.

The worst part of this is that they will continue to fine you until it is cleaned. It is never a single fine and let it go.
I keep a small pile of sand under my truck to catch its territorial markings. It is easily swept and replaced once it has me its fluid catching limit leaving no marks on the driveway.
Transmission fluid sucks. I cleaned mine with Dawn ultra dish soap and a lot of elbow grease. Didn't remove it completely but it looks a lot better. Red staining is gone. To bad you cant paint it with driveway sealer paint. Think they sell it at Home Depot.
I refuse to ever live in an HOA. I don't know how you guys deal with all the crap.
There is little choice in Vegas if you want to live in a decent neighborhood. Even most of the crappy areas have HOAs. We rent until I get done with school and get some real income. Then I will find a house with enough garage space that I can get all the toys I want and keep them inside. That or we will move up to Mt. Charleston where it's not an issue.

But there's always that one guy with nothing better to do than walk around the neighbourhood and inspect every house for HOA violations. I couldn't put up with it.
I have friends that live in HOAs that have a guy that does nothing but ride around issuing citations. I am not in one that is that strict, but still not thrilled with them.

2X that. Right now HOA is a necessary evil. I rent also and know I'm a target because I rent. Sucks especially when some homeowners don't keep their places up and I do.
