Ford sold manuals in the F-350, too. The manual transmission is a ZF six speed. There are several threads around about converter trucks to manual transmissions.
Yes, I actually have been looking for one for years now. They are rare and hard to come by....at least the good ones
You might want to consider getting a new transmission anyway. My dad has an 01 F250 Auto and his went out at 100k (no forward movement just a rev) I swapped it with the luxury of my uncles 9000# lift in 4 hrs by myself. I got it remanned with billet internals and a upgraded torque converter. So far no issues and shifts great with a Superchip programmer on any setting.
My ZF6 first gear syncro was somehow broken when my clutch came apart and I jammed it into first gear so I could out of the middle of an intersection... so it was my fault completely but it was cheaper to replace the transmission than it was to rebuild the syncro in the one I had. Got it from Midwest Transmission from a suggestion by another FTEer.

Hello Mitch,
Now, how do I remove the trans? I mean, I raise the truck and slide a trans jack etc but what/how many bolts are actually holding the trans in place? the bell housing has bolts on top, how do I even get to it without the whole Engine apart?
I really want to move to a 6 speed if at all possible. What do I need to change in terms of computer etc to make it all work.
A trans auto/manual will set me back 4K? any guess?
Buy a shop manual, you're going to need it. Chilton and Haynes do not publish shop manuals. They are useless. You can often find the Ford manuals on eBay.
