Howdy all
I have installed a triple disc torque convertor in my '01 F250 SD 7.3 with the 4R100. The problem that I am experiencing is that after it warms up in drive it sounds like someone is throughing gravel up at the bottom of the floor board. Could this be that the convertor has trown a spring or someother part or does it sound like the flexplate is broken? It has me stumped and would greatly appreciate any input.
Thanks
I dont know how to speculate, I would imagine, the place to start is to pull the converter and see whats wrong. That be where I would start. Hows the transmission oil look, is there enough, when the last time changed?
The trans fluid is full and looks good not any shiney specks or glitter. I changed it last weekend. I installed the convertor when I rebuilt the trans.
Most of the time when the flexplate cracks all the way around it will chatter really loud sitting still at idle...but with the 7.3L that may be kinda hard to hear. I would second to double check the bolts.
Thanks for all the help but I just got done ordering a Banks Torque Convertor, ATS Stage 2 Trans., New Flexplate. I'm getting ready to order a Banks Transcommand and an Edge Evolution(and get rid of the Bully Dog 4 Band 6 Posistion chip). So if you or anyone you know is interested in the chip I'll let it go for $240.00
