Question on guage cluster interchangeability
I have a 94 f150 300-6 Xl with no tach. Slowly adding XLT parts.
I understand now that a 92-93, 94-95, and 96-97HD clusters are only interchangeable because of the addition of air bags and changes in the circuit boards.
I am at the stafford ct swap meet right now and see a lot of diesel clusters. Of course the diesel and gas tachs are different, but I have a 93 cluster with tach that I'm thinking might fit on the diesel cluster.
So what I'm trying to do is get a 94-95 diesel cluster and switch out the tach with the gas one from the 93 cluster I have, and the PSOM from my 94 which is in my truck. Does anyone see problems with this or think it would work?

That should work, just compare the back of the clusters to make sure there are no differences between Diesel and gas clusters!
IF you have a 93 gas cluster allready, you can adapt it into the 94's harness, its a few pins that need to be swapped between the plugs.
There is a few threads on how to do this right here, just have to search for "tach cluster swap"
