Another instrument cluster question

I got a 1996 cluster with a tach for my 96 460 CID gas F350. What is the difference between the gas tach and diesel tach? My tach has 0-6000, but it doesn't say unleaded or diesel anywhere. I don't want to use a diesel tach.
