New Cluster for Tachometer

I have looked through past posts and on my 1993 F250 XL that does not have a tachometer it looks like a replacement cluster with a tach is a direct drop in.

can anyone verify this?

Thanks.

It is on the earlier models. Go ahead and ask in that year forum and see what they say. On the earlier models if it was a diesel, you would have to add a sensor and some wiring. I don't know, maybe by 1993 all diesels had tach's anyway.

Thanks, since it is a 5.8 and not a diesel I think I have a chance.

in the 93 5.8 and the Diesel the wiring for the Tach Exists it's a white/Pink wire on the Ignition Suppressor resistor on the 5.8 going to A9 on the Cluster

EDIT: pretty sure a Cluster from a Gasser with the tach of the years 93 - 95 should work fine.

Only 1992 and 1993 clusters will work.
Any other year the battery will not charge unless you do some pin swapping around in the connectors.

ok I see a bit of difference between 93 and 94, so I stand corrected
