Good Idea, take a breath, enjoy your favorite beverage and relax, I see on your trans. invoice they gave you a 6 month guarantee, so if your fluid is good, let them figure it out.
You know, I always check the fluid with it warmed up and in neutral. When I warm my truck up in the winter I put it in neutral cuz the fluid flows more and it warms up quicker. Maybe it doesn't matter, just my 2.
Well I don't know if it flows more so to speak, but I think it just goes thru more passages within the valve body and wotnot. Sure makes a difference when it's -20 out. Not sure about the shift kit/valve body thing.
It doesn't make any difference with fluid flow in neutral or park .
It's just safer to do it in park as you can't get run over by your own vehicle
I think you will find with a bit more fluid your trans will be just fine .
Also if you want to ease the harsh shifts a bit you should be able to adjust your vacuum modulator .
I think the tc would take more than one quart. How many quarts total did you put in the trans originally? When first draining and refilling mine (it had been sitting for over two years in the PO's yard and I had no idea what condition it was in), I checked the interweb and found capacities from 5-9 quarts iirc.
When I did mine, I put in around 5 quarts, and nothing happened. I ended up adding another 3-4 quarts and everything worked fine.
Rite on !!!!!!!! Sometimes these super frustrating situations take on a life of there own, and at least in my case, the more trouble I find, the more frustrated I get, and the more frustrated I get the more trouble I have and so on, and so on. But it is always and I do mean always, the folks here on FTE that save the day. Ok sorry this kind of took me back to my own past experiences, but Im so happy your problems have been resolved and your back on the road. Congratulations, enjoy.
