New to the site.
Hello my name is Bernard. I just recently bought a 55 f100 for $4500. I have been wanting a 55 since I was in high school. Now that I'm 33 I finally got one. I bought it from a 90 year old man. It was in his garage sitting for 2 years. He was the 2nd owner of this 55. He had it since the 70's. Now I'm the 3rd owner. The next day that I had it I got it running. It needed a fuel pump. I changed the coil cause it had a hair line crack and it was arching. I also changed it from points to the Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition system. It has a 351 Windsor. I'm fixing the little things right now to get it road worth. Today I installed a Hella horn set up. I'm going to be here for a while for tips and advice.

Welcome Bernard! Sounds like you adopted a keeper truck. Always better to know the story and previous owner, in my view. Arctic, or another member, will be along to post instructions for posting pics. In short, you'll need to upload the pics to a site like photobucket, copy the location, and paste it into your post using the little yellow icon. There are other options as well.
With the start you have, I suspect this isn't your first old vehicle. What are your plans?

I had a 49 Studebaker truck when I was younger. I regret selling it. I was 20 when I sold it. I also had a 62 GMC truck but it wasnt what I wanted. I have always wanted a 55 F100. Now that I got one it is a keeper. I plan to install disc brakes and change the rear end to a 9 inch or a 8.8. I plan to lower it 3 inches as well for starters.

Welcome to FTE!
You can post pictures in your first post. There's no waiting time for that.
The pics must be somewhere on the Internet first. I use Photobucket, but there are other hosting sites.
Here's one way to put pics in your posts:
Go to Photobucket.com and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg
Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).
Your pic will be placed in the post.
Hope that helps.

Hi and welcome to the insanity!
I posted my suggestion on how to develop a build plan that is different from most in this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...1955-f250.html
Meanwhile I would suggest you update your personal info (user cp at the left end of the light blue band near the top of the page) to include you location i.e. city and state, and put a line in your signature box with the year and model of your truck. That way your location will appear under your user name in your posts and we will know what truck you are looking for info on without any trouble. This makes it easier to give you accurate info and since we have quite a number of TX members there may be some near you as well.
