Do you have kids? Or I guess it could be useful camping in the rain and you have a stash of netflix movies to catch up on...otherwise waste of money. Bring your iPad...

No kids, and I would never use it... I just like the idea of having a "closer to as good as everyone elses" Ex.

I have an '05 with the DVD player - it is never being used - just hanging there. It simply represents old technology - obsolete in fact, not even HD or blue ray (also obsolete now when everything goes to streaming). Just like factory built in GPS systems - imagine you actually have to get a DVD from the dealer in order to update the maps! No thank you.

Agreed to an extent. With aux in on the unit most likely you can get it to work with whatever you would like. Or you can get a head unit that hooks to the phone and go video out to the rear and do what ever you would like. At this point it is a clean install of a monitor.

That is what ours is used for, just a monitor...

Anyone have any pics of one installed or what it looks like hanging down from the front? If it gets in the field of view I'm totally out. Also, does it come with everything? All the electronics and tv and all that or is this just an empty shell?

It doesn't go up front. It's the rear entertainment center.

No, I meant what it looks like from the drivers seat. Like does it hang down a few inches and obstruct the rear view is all.

Ah, ok, gotcha.

It blocks the rear view via the rear view mirror considerably.

Settles that then, I'm totally not interested then. I was hoping it would sit up close and out of the way more
