Headlight bulbs

I've installed these headlights SUPER DUTY 05-07 CHROME SET WITH PNP CONVERSION HARNESS at HeadlightsDepot.com | Top Quality Headlights at Affordable Prices and the field of lighting is fine... better straight/focused lighting ahead but not the broad area lighting the old rectangular headlights provided.

So... I'd like to have some opinions of H13 bulbs. I suspect lumens will be close but sometime performance and longevity is different. I'm leaning towards H13 phillips exttreme but there are others available. I'm not willing to buy three brands and try them out so what I've read so far Phillips seem to be the best "overall" choice.

What say you?

I actually just bought the same headlights, same place and have been doing a bunch of H13 bulb research.

If you want to stlick with Halogen then the best you can do (IMHO) is the Philips Xtreme Power (+80) or Extreme Vision (+100). I've ran both in my 02 housing and was very happy.

That said, personally this time I decided to go with HIDs (yes, I know I'm a bad man for putting HIDs in reflector housing) but I went with 5000k 55w digital HIDS from Retro-Solutions.com. I wanted bright white light and this was the only way I was going to get it (reliably)

I'm running the Xenon Silverstar's or something like that. Whatever the ones are that come in that ridiculously showy plastic case, lol (had a gift card, figured why not...). I've been qute pleased with them, good bright light and surprising longevity considering. I've got a full HID setup waiting to go, but I need to get off my *** and retrofit some HID projectors before though. Not going to roll down the street blinding everything.

If you're looking to broaden the light field - throw some 9005 bulbs in foglights. I have the Sinister Diesel (MKM Customs) version of the headlights you just bought and had the same problem. Even brighter bulbs still didn't help, as the reflectors design still kept the light from spreading out. Been running them for over a year with no issues, and WAY more light. Since I did the foglight mod (jumped the switch wires, fogs come on with parking lights now) I can drive around with just the fogs, headlights are almost unnecessary unless speed increases over 40.

I would only use LEDs as DRLs. AFAIK aftermarket LEDs aren't quite there yet for headlights.
