Headlight / foglight upgrade

I got a set of PIAA extreme white headlight 9007 bulbs for my truck. They are DOT approved and very white with just the slightest hint of blue. I am also upgrading my factory fog light bulbs (9145) to a PIAA ion crystal bulb which is a yellow tint to reduce glare and work better in poor visibility. Some guys just put a 9005 into the light to make it brighter. Hoping to be a bit unique looking with slightly blue headlights contrasted to the yellow fogs. I also have the mod done to keep the fogs on with the high beams.

How much did those upgraded lights cost if you dont mind me asking? Ive been thinking about upgrading my bulbs in the fogs and the headlights for awhile.

Also, make sure ya let us know how much of a difference they make. If its worth it and whatnot.

I bought the headlights and ordered the fogs - I think msrp was $100 per set. I will give you an honest, no bs evaluation. A friend put silverstars in his SD and I didnt really see enough difference!

Too bad I can`t mount these bulbs in the Bobcat, some serious help needed there.

I need to do some light work on my Case too. For night time trenching it can get pretty dark.

A friend of mine just put a set of 5000K HID bixenon lights in his 04 Supercrew, and they're amazing. He got the kit off ebay for $240 US, and it's got me thinkin bout puttin a set in the ol Ranger.

I've got them cheaper than that, including a lifetime warranty

My truck sure has some good headlights, I don't know what they are as the PO installed them but, I can't remember the last time I had to use highbeams.

HID's are different setup than regular lights. In a regular headlight, there is 2 filaments, one for high beam and one for low. In HID lights there is only 1 light source, so you either need a high and low per side (4 lights total) or get ones that are solenoid activated. These ones physically change the angle of the bulb, creating a high and low beam light source.
