Hey out there, does anyone have a recommendation of a good headlight replacement. I guess 13 years was a good run but old righty went out. Thinking of a good aftermarket but thought I would give a shout out for input. thanks hope all is well with the fte crowd.
I have had Sylvania 9007 SU SilverStar Ultra Halogen Headlight Bulbs in my truck for almost 5 years. I have really liked them. Sylvania has a newer and supposedly brighter bulb out now the Sylvania 9007 SZ SilverStar zXe High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulb. I just bought a set to upgrade, I haven't installed them yet, maybe I will tomorrow if I think about it. I do a lot of driving at night and right now we have a lot of deer out on the interstate and with winter coming up I'll be excited to see how these will work.
Also about a month ago, I used the 3M headlight lens restoration kit to polish my headlight lens that made a huge improvement.
I have had the Silverstar Ultras for about 5 years also. Better than the stockers.(whiter and brighter)
Bulbs will put out less light as they age so replacing them every now and then will help you keep bright headlights.
Island let me know how those new bulbs work out for you. I may upgrade also. Also you want to upgrade to the crystal clear headlight lenses if you don't have them. They don't haze like the older ones.
I am thinking of replacing the entire lens setup, very fogged and condensation in both, I used the 3m polishing kit about a year ago and it did not last the year. Found an Anzo replacement on Amazon. Anybody do an aftermarket swap?
my son put aftermarket Halo-HID lights on his F 150 and loves them. Says they make night driving better. He got them off ebay for around $150, 2 new silverstars will cost about $50 and not as bright!
forgot to add these are complete housings with lenses etc.

The 2003 and 2004 (maybe 2002) models came with different lenses. They are crystal clear and will not haze up on you. Pick up a set of those replacement lenses along with a set of new bulbs and I am sure you will happy.
I have polished headlight lenses already and you usually have to do them every year.
I upgraded the headlights on my 2000 SuperDuty to the '05-'07 style... required a fair amount of cutting on the header, but got 'er done... looks SOOO much better... better lighting too.
Got them from Headlight Depot... came with the adapter pigtails & all bulbs...

I didn't have a chance to put the new headlights in last week. I did put them in yesterday. Tonight while I was on the interstate with wet roads I was impressed. Very white and clear.
I do want to upgrade to the 2002-04 lenses. That will have to wait until next year.
