Door Panel Removal

Need to pull the door panel off the front drivers side and do a little maintenance. I have power windows and power locks so except for the actual inside door handle there is not much in the way.

Question, do these rigs have those snap-in plastic pieces that require a special tool? I have one but it looks to me after removing the power control switches and a few screws the entire panel should lift up, then out, but not sure.

Virtually every time I've done this on past trucks I have screwed up the panel somewhat and don't want to do that again. Also once removed any good things to do such as lube up movable parts ... etc.

Biggest reason for the job is front drivers speaker is out and once in there can see if the problem is with speaker, connections or in the door to frame wiring boot area.

The short answer is yes. The door panel has those pesky little plastic thingys that are a pain in the butt. The have a double head and the first head slides into raised slots on the panel and the second head keeps the panel from going in too far? I just pulled my paned today and I will be stopping by Ford tomorrow to pick up some replacement thingys. Hope this helps

I found some in the 'help' center at the auto parts store, Christmas trees, LOL. I would put some soundproofing in there if it was me.

I wish I would have known that when I took what was left of the old door panel.. I wish I could find a door with the panel to replace it.. The window is shot, and the electronics have long since stopped working.

I tried the Auto Parts store yesterday when I picked up the new window motor. They had the 'Christmas Tree Thingys' but not the double head that Ford needs, maybe you'll have better luck.

Ebay has a lot of window parts, it's just hard to find a reasonably priced door/guts for it.
