The running lamp light on the headlight ****? when you pull out the ****? is that what you mean? Thanks
Yes, but turn it clockwise to running lamps, not pull out for fog lights. You could use any of those options though. I just really didn't want to drill and mount a cheesy toggle switch on my dash, and I don't have the upfitter option.

Ok, I wondered what that function was for....my running lights must have been turned off somehow so that function isn't even being used now and will serve well for my high idle switch. Thanks

Ok--so on cold warm up--the high idle gets the temps up quicker-which is best?
in general it is best for these engines to run at a higher RPM for the health of the engine correct.

Well... Something like that. I do not believe in the wet-stacking theory. However, it does warm up the engine faster and helps the electronics, especially the FICM with a higher idle.

Thanks to all, just one of the great things about FTE, lots of experience and willing people to share it. It really does make owning a Super Duty 6.0 much easier.
I'm off to the body shop to pick my truck up today and will start to make preparations to get this high idle thing done.
I just did the high idle switch in my 2004. Took 1/2 hour to do. I dont see any reason to idle over 1200rpm...stock goes to 1000 in cold weather, so the high idle switch brings it up just a hair more. Takes about 10 minutes to bring my truck from dead cold to about 140 degrees Engine coolant temp(via Edge insight)
From the factory the truck idles up, but then starts to idle back down pretty quick. I done the mod to kick it up and keep it there until I shut it off.
Also when it's down in the single digits, idleing will let the engine temp fall and then it takes a few miles to get back up to temp. Or, use high idle and keep it up to temp.

That's what I'm looking to do, when I get with my truck I'll check out the wiring and see if I can get it to do the same. Thanks.

Same here, It's been extremely cold for awhile here now in the NE, this morning was the first morning for some time that it was above Zero, and as you say whenever I stop the truck the engine cools rather quickly and then it takes a bit ti get it back up to OT, I haven't put on a winter front because I plow with this truck and with the plow on traveling it keeps the engine on the warm side anyway and I don't want to mess with opening and closing the front every time I hook/unhook the plow.
