battery drain

Any ideas on what can cause my 8v battery to drain down over a week of downtime? I've checked all I could think of. Starts everytime if I just disconnect the Pos. grnd cable from battery after using. Is charging while running, generator was tweeked to allow for 8v battery. I have no radio, vacuum wiper, maybe a fault in the turn signal? Thoughts? Also, my horn don't work, never has...

Might be the voltage regulator . Unplug it and see if it has any effect. Other thing is put a test light between battery post and cable. If you have a draw on the system the light will light up. If it lights up start pulling fuses on at a time. When the light goes out you found the circuit that is drawing.

Agree on the voltage regulator cut-out relay, although I would be surprised if it takes more than overnight to drain if it's that.

Brake lights staying on? Very common for a bad pressure switch to keep the brake lights on. Usually quite obvious. Battery known good?

I put a volt meter on mine, wired it directly to my alternator. When the truck sits it actually drains the battery. I guess I need to wire it through the ignition.
