I need some help diagnosing my problem. My tranny is not wanting to shift out of 1st and when it does it's really sloppy. It has a really bad vibration and the torque converter is shuddering. The converter is good and it isn't shooting any codes. I have a '99 7.3 F250. Please help me out!
I guess I technically don't know that it is, but it is brand new. I was just assuming that wasn't the problem because I just got it.
Don't assume anything and don't purchase anything until you get the codes read. Find out what your transmission is trying to tell you before you start replacing parts.

There are no codes showing. That's why I need help. There is nothing to read.
A diesel mechanic of mine, I don't see why that is important?
It's Important because there is possibly a code or codes stored even though the light isn't blinking. As stated above, never assume a new part is good, especially aftermarket.
Most scanners won't read trans codes unless it's high end software. I assume your mechanic has AE or a high end scan tool, since standard scanners won't communicate with the 7.3's.
If there is "sloppy shifts" and TQ shudder there will be a code present 8/10 times.
I know that you are just looking for a "fix" , but, if you watch this video of a similar problem, you will see why it is a difficult question to answer without a lot more information. If you watch the video, please watch it all the way to the end. There is additional important valve body information on the video after the teardown part is complete.

Thanks for the advice. Gonna check all my valves and scan it again, hopefully I'll hit on something. Thanks again!
