Trans Range Sensor Install No Special Tools Required
I have gotten many question on this over time and wanted to address it once and for all. A failing trans range sensor is more common on some vehicles than others, rotted pins on F150s, climbing voltage on the CD4Es, to general bad contact issue internal to the sensor on the Taurus vehicles. They all look the same and align the same way. Ford calls out for a special tool to align them and if you don't know already I show you how to align it without the special tool so you can still do the job yourself and do it correctly right in your driveway. Hope this helps.
I watched it over and over and couldn't see the line that you were obviously moving to dial it in. When I lightened my monitor up to the max, I was just able to see it. Cameras are funny sometimes, especially on black objects.

It really comes in and easier to see at the 2min mark, I have found that clicking on the 1080p HD setting on the youtube player helps also.
Well that does seem simple enough, for sure. Nice Video!
What are the conditions, or symptoms of the transmission that would point to replacing this "Trans Range Sensor"? Does a code get tripped?
Can this be replaced with the transmission still in the truck/vehicle?

It will usually throw a code, you may notice abnormal shift pattern and on some it may jerk you into a lower gear going down the road.
