Problem with Trans Position Sensor/P0708 Code

I scanned my truck last week and it gave me a P0708 code. I looked up the part and ordered the new Ford Motorcraft trans position sensor, but I am having issues removing the old one.

I made sure the vehicle was secure on jack stands and such. Put the truck in neutral and removed the two 8mm bolts. I un-plugged the electrical connector and attempted to slide off, but it was pretty stubborn. I can see the linkage above the sensor and can see that it doesn't connect to the trans sensor. My question is simply this, do I need to just use WD40 and pry it off patiently or am I missing a fastener somewhere?

Any information is appreciated. I have combed the forums and haven't been able to find an answer so I posted here.

You also have to disconnect the cable from the lever, then remove the lever from its shaft (one nut).
