I bought a hypertech 1xle4 used and its causing my truck to throw a check engine light. I suspect the dip switches are not in the right position. I called hypertech's tech line to get info on the chip and they of course know nothing because its so old. Also, they couldn't tell me what the dip switches do. Does anyone have any old information about this chip or have on in their truck that they can check the dip switch positions for me?
Justin, I have no direct knowledge of this chip/tuner. That being said, does it throw a code just riding around, or does it do it only when you floor the pedal? If it's only from flooring it, it is probably because it is overboosting the truck, (boosting higher than 23psi or so) and you will need a boost fooler so the truck doesn't defuel.

Truck only makes about 20 psi or so now. Took the chip out and it makes 16. The check engine light usually illuminates under coast, no matter how I drive it. Its frustrating because hypertech has no info on their product.
Yeah, I wouldn't risk it. If Hypertech isn't even supporting their own product, why would you want it to begin with? There are enough good tuners out there, I wouldn't mess with tuning that old anyway. There supposedly have been big advancements in tuning just in the last 2-3 on these trucks. I would want the newest, safest stuff the tuner of your choice produces, not something they don't even support, on my truck personally.
