My local Int'l dealer is nothing short of a PITA. I'll spend more money elsewhere so I don't have to deal with them. Any chance it's a branch of the Beltway Company dealerships down where you're at?
It certainly was....unfortunately they are the only ones that stock parts around here. I did call another dealer in Annapolis and he told me the same thing, he could get me reman AB's but I couldn't use them for cores for AC's.
100 miles give or take on replacement injectors...Idle way smoother, doesn't sound like a BB Chevy all cammed up...BUT SES light stays on almost constantly until oil temp comes up...Number 4 High low open.....Clay, expect a call next week...8 new AC's please....Caveat Emptor.
PS....Now I know why CSIPSD got banned....I'll keep my mouth shut from here on out.

Not to dissuade you from contributing to Clay's son's college fund, but that's a connector DTC. You appear to have a bad electrical connection somewhere, unless you strongly suspect it's the solenoid pack.
As for going from reman to new - please share your experience on that if you follow through. I can say I was taken aback - like winning a jackpot at a slot machine. Put the money in, pull on the lever (torque wrench), and the payoff pushes your seat back. There is this crisp snap to the solenoids that sounds reassuring, and much more consistency from one mode to the next (warm, cold, idle, WOT, etc...).
I'll lay money on the solenoid pack. It goes away once the oil temp comes up.
I'd rather lay some probes on the 42-pin connector and be sure. Gambling with green is one sure-fire way to clear the Buck$Zooka, but no promise of secondary explosions in the cylinder.
I sold the Cobra last month but my wife had other plans for 'our' money so lo and behold I only changed two injectors out with new. For the last two months I've been staring at a CEL blinking on and off in relation to throttle position and oil temperature. Buzz test confirmed 1 and 4 high to low open. Number 4 injector failed all the time. I just installed it in April. Put the two new injectors in holes 1 and 4 and no more CEL and buzz test good.
Say what you will about warranty and whatever but I have better things to do with my time than swap injectors. I feel like I've been ripped off to the tune of 1000 bucks. Money that does NOT come easy to me.
I have no idea to what standard full force diesel remanufactures these injectors to but I can assure you its way too low. I'm saving my money to buy 6 more new injectors to get the rest of that crap out of my engine.
Jetdoc, thank you for sharing your experience with the rest of us. When making money decisions, it is very easy to go the cheaper route if we do not have enough accurate information. Injectors are not like brake pads. More time involved, possible brake down or engine damage. They are really part of the heart of this engine. I can now see why it is very worthwhile to invest in quality new injectors. Larry
