Been having problems with my 06 running rough when cold, and down on power when hot, so I tested the ficm, it read ok on koeo, but down to 34volts on the buzz test. Took it apart, and it looked great - solder was like new. I watched the video with the 2 guys with the bad tv skills showing how to do a buzz test for the injectors and got all excited to try that. So it finally got cold enough this morning to do it, (about 45 degrees) and when I tried it, all I get is a buzzing sound like a hornets nest for about 5 seconds and nothing else. I've owned the truck for over 2 years through many cold starts, and I can't remember ever hearing it test the injectors. What am I doing wrong?
It's right here on the forum in the tech folder. Bismic provided the links. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ctor-info.html
It's 4 posts down, the stiction, buzz test, diagnostics etc link. The buzz test starts at 12.30 minutes into the video.
I was wondering about the 34 volts, but it's a rock solid 48.1 when it's running
I lied. I went out and read my little paper I was writing things down on, and running, it was 42.something volts, 48.1 was koeo. I guess I need a new ficm. So why won`t this thing do an injector test
