Transmission temp sending unit

I have a '99 powerstroke with an automatic trans. I purchased a Sunpro trans temp gauge and tried to install the sending where the plug is just above the pan rail. The sending unit won't screw in because the sending unit is too long. Is the common problem? The trans has had a shift kit installed and converter upgrade.

Call Sunpro and talk to them about it. I haven't heard about that problem, but most here use Isspro, Glow Shift, or Auto Meter.

I have heard of that.

The case castings vary. Some are deeper than others. And there are different sending units. Some are longer than others.
