Upfitter switch installation
My truck pass-through wires appear the same except with an orange stripe (whereas he calls it a red stripe)
If so, then it means that they would need to be spliced into the under-dash wires, right?
None of those pass-through wire colors correspond to the colors shown in the owners manual which are:
- Yellow (25 amp) fuse
- Green/brown (25 amp)
- Violet/green (10 amp)
- Brown (15 amp)
This is clear as mud.

Are these simply pass-through wires that are capped at each end?
If so, then it means that they would need to be spliced into the under-dash wires, right?

there are passthru wires, engine bay to under dash..
and there are upfitter wires from switches to under dash..
bothe come out in the same place under the dash.
the upfitter wires have an associated fuse and relay and load documented.
the passthru wires do NOT have any documented load (that I am aware of)
to use the whole thing to control say a front light, you need to pick an upfitter switch, find its wire under the dash,
pick a passthru wire under the dash,
join those two together.
remembering the color of the passthru wire under the dash that you selected go to the engine bay, behind the fuse box and find the same wire,
then add wire to control the light front light. (however that needs to be done)
some folks don't like how thin the passthru wires are (how do you control a 30amp device with a 24ga wire?) , and make their own, punch a wire thru the rubber grommet under the carpet near the drivers right foot.. then connect the upfitter wire to that instead.
