I just did the fuel filter change and took my 32mm socket to the plastic nut and it cracked right off pouring fuel out. Thankfully, my local dealer had another one stocked. I bought a spare too. The location/plastic style, i dont know what ford was thinking. Just giving everybody a heads up! The piece costs me about $25... well worth buying 2.
I've changed my filters every other oil change or about every 15,000 miles and I now have 137,000 miles on my truck. I just changed my fuel filter again. I've not broken or had a problem with my cap. I do oil the O-ring, I do use a strap wrench and my 32 mm socket. Applying pressure to both wrenchs at the same time.

I guess i have to do that from now on... the factory o ring was bone dry too. I had to fight it to come off.
So when you guys are changing filters do you stick with Ford filters? I'm thinking for Warranty I should buy filters from Ford. Or are there others that will still be OK like WIX.
Thanks to the antwan181 I will be very cautious when removing the fuel bowl. I might even buy an extra because it is a 125 mile round road trip to the dealer.

Wix is a top quality filter but I use the Motorcraft ones because I can ALWAYS get them cheaper.
