I have 2011 f350 lariat without upfitter switches in dash. Can someone confirm if the wiring harness is there or not? .I dont remember seeing anything behind there when installing nav unit but maybe its on drivers side somewhere?I assume if its not right behind where the upfitter switch goes I will need the harness as well?part number al3z-14a303-a
My understanding is that the harness on the upfitter switches plugs into a plug under the steering column. There is also a ground wire that you have to screw down to a ground source.
It's there, well at least the plug for the upfitter harness is there. I just installed them on my XLT a week ago. If you look up way up past the steering column to the right side of it (would be your right if siting in the seat) you wil see a little gray connector. The connector has a dummy plug which will have to be taken out. It is very difficult to get to. Took me about 10 minutes with a few bleeding knuckles. You will have to get on your back and squeeze your head between the brake and gas pedal. I could barely reach it but it is there.
Here's a little video I just went outside and took. The plug is further up in the dash than the video makes it look but it's there.

Ok,thanks.. Gotta order them. Thanks alot for the video.Very helpful.
I have a airlift on board compressor. Its tapped into a 20 amp fuse under hood.Is there any benefit of hooking it into upfitter switch? I cant think of any.
Found them on ford parts via autonation ford white bear lake for 124.Thats the harness and switch.9.95 two day shipping.Slightly cheaper then above ebay link.(10bucks)But I also ordered fuel filters, oil filter and one sensor for exaust( just in case).Seems to be a more common sensor that goes but is an easy fix on side of road if you have one.So I paid the same 9.95 for shipping for it all.Ive used them before and for most parts I cant find a better price. Not even ebay usually beats them.
Here's the Ford installation instructions. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...tml/Q157R1.pdf What they don't mention in these is the dummy plug you have to remove from the connector above the gas peddle like Wizness pointed out.
So when I hook up the wiring harness i know one end goes into upfitter switches and the other under drivers dash. Now then do I find the pass through wires and connect those to the four wires on the wire harness?
OK so I just called my dealership and was quoted $400.00 to install the Upfitter switches in my 2013 F350 Platinum. But from what I am reading I only need to purchase the upfitter switch and harness from ebay for around $145 then remove the coin slot,, lay on the drivers floor board, connect the new wireing harness to the plug up above the throttle pedal, attach the ground wire, hook the harness to the upfitter switches, and place the upfitter switches where the coin slot was. As far as install now its complete. The only thing left to do is hook my transfer tank power wire to one of the upfitter switches wire and Im good to go, or am I missing something. As I have seen on here and on youtube a people messing with a whole handfull of wires coming from the fire wall above the parking brake.
Im not a mechanic but Im not an idot and can work on many things. If this it the correct process I can easily get the job done and save $250.00 bucks. Just wanting to make sure I have not missed anything.

That's exactly what you need to do. Honestly it took me about 25/20 minutes to install. Hardest part is plugging it in but once your done it's good to go. 400 bucks is ridiculous.
