Help Upfitter Switch Install 09

So I have mounted the fuse box, and begun to route the wire across to the switches for the Upfitter Switches. But for the life of me, I can't find where to plug the harness in to. I have searched, and everyone says that you have to have your hand in a really awkward position to reach the harness, but I'm not even sure where I'm reaching. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Where exactly is the plug located when you look from the front of the dash? Is it near the rear window switch?

Thanks for any help.

Behind the glove box? I haven't checked there. From the way the Ford diagram looks, it appears the harness connector (the one you plug in to get power, and connect it to the vehicle) is in the center of the dash somewhere, on the driver side of the cab. I think it was behind the glovebox in pre-08 models.

Can someone chime in?

The glovebox in question may be the small box on the driver's side near the bottom of the dash. Not sure if you have these or not but this is all I could find and hopefully the links work:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/non-html/Q157.pdf

https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckBBAS...tml/Q117R1.pdf

The instructions are for '08 model trucks but should be the same for the '09s to my knowledge.

On my 07 the relays are behind the glove box but the wires to connect your accessories are left in a bundle behind the fuse box on teh drivers side. There are also firewall pass through wires as well.

Great info guys. The issue that I am having is as follows:

If you look at the Q157.pdf document referenced above.

I cannot find the plug labeled 14A303 WIR ASY to 14401 WIR ASY (NTER-CONNECT). Any hints/location?

I've not ventured that far into my dash or an '08+ dash but from the looks of that diagram, it appears that the harness is far up behind the airbag module.

The wire harness is at the very top of the dash, just to the right of the fuel peddle. The factory installed a black plastic boot in the connector, I guess to protect the pins. Look at the connector and make a mental thought of it so that you can match it up. Take the black plactic boot out and you can install the connector. I could not figure how to route the harness and use the factory plastic plugs in the factory holes so I used zip ties. They worked great. The only hard part will be fishing the connector up to where it plugs into the rear of the up fitter switches. The assoc. wires are under the dash just to the right of the parking brake. Any question just givce me a shout. Hope this helps.

Sorry to hijack and for the newb questions but I am a newb when it comes to my truck. The last SD I had was an '01 and these were not available. So are these switches able to put on a 2006 SD? Also what do you use these switches for? Thanks and sorry again for hijack.
