When we checked the alternator it peaked out at 12.2V with my DVM (Definatly BAD Alternator) at the Alt The FICm Remained in a Good Range But was Stressed @ 46.5 -48 Volts kinda Bouncing around between thos numbers while it Idled
And the Battery Light Began to Flicker toward the End
SO Im confident its a Low Power problem has the Classic symtoms
You guys have any Good Ideas where to get a Decent Alt for a Reasonable price
The easiest and one of the cheapest upgrades is the 140 amp 6G from the dual alternator/ snow plow prep trucks.
Another option with slightly more output at idle is the 130 amp large case 3G from the 94-97 7.3 engines. This option requires a conversion harness.

To boost the output a little more at idle many swap to this 58 mm pulley:

There are these 2 options as well:
Well FORD took his money and did a Fuel System Flush when he Needed a New ALternator
So DC is out
Are those others Cheaper Josh?? the Singer or Mecham???
Carl had another Vehicle to drive so He has Time to Find something that will Power the truck Better then the 110amp OEM that we know is underpowered when we start doing the Math of Supply vs Demand vs RPM
Here's an interesting ebay find
http://www.ebay.com/itm/250AMP-HIGH-OUTPUT-ALTERNATOR-FORD-E-F-SERIES-E450-F450-EXCURSION-6-0L-2003-2007-/281226124330?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417a621c2a&vxp=mtr250 amp for $170, doesn't seem too bad.

Mechman and Singer are cheaper than DC.
The best option for warranty is the 3G/6G with nationwide warranty.
Second is the Visteon ornPrestolite available at International and heavy truck dealers.
Then the internet providers; DC, Mechman or Singer.
I know a Singer 275 amp is $489 and the 240 amp is $409.
Tried to reps you Benny, but apparently I am in reps jail

So did I.
On a place for an alt. I picked up the top 140 for the dual alt system
and it's doing a good job. It got the smaller pulley a few weeks after I
put it in and now it really pumps out the juice.
Were yall checking the voltage at the alternator or at the batteries? My thoughts are that the fuse is blown in the wire from the alternator to the battery OR the plug in the back of the alternator has a bad/broken wire, but that usually turns on the battery light. Might also be a Vref or an I-circuit problem.
