Can't find anyone who has heard of my problem. My 1999 F350 w/ 367,000 miles (Edge Juice with Attitude) will shake violently (motor runs very rough) anytime it is between the 4 (8) entrance or exit ramps of 2 highways. I'm literally looking to pull off the road. The motor has actually stopped 1 time but while rolling in neutral I was able to start it right up. Once I get beyond the exit/entrance ramps the motor runs smooth.
This happens 100% of the time when I drive through this area. The same thing happens 70 miles away. Its not the road.
Has anyone heard of this? Could any sensors be influenced by outside electrical interference?
I have run into strange issues myself. My truck (99F250) will not unlock with the remote at work, if I park across the street from the office. If I park on the same side as the office, it works just fine. The remote unlocks the doors at home or anywhere else all the time. It only doesn't work across the street from my office. Go figure.
Yes, I've seen this several times. Each time it was due to an aftermarket CPS sensor. Some of the cheaper sensors are not protected from electrical interference.
That is so crazy! I think I'm having the same issue and I didn't connect the dots. Had my truck die three times within a block of the same intersection and ran super rough when I went through that area this morning. Truck is running great except for those isolated incidents. Is there any way to shield the CPS or do you just have to replace it? Seems like there is another part/sensor that can be impacted too. Is that right anyone?
Thanks Mark, I think the CPS is original. My mechanic is checking the cps sensor this weekend while changing the injectors. I will look into this further. This is my first time on this forum and the members came through. Outstanding!

I think I heard of it happening with an aftermarket ICP sensor too, but I'm not 100% certain so don't quote me on that one . . .
Thanks for hanging in there guys. I checked the ICP (OEM) and it's bad even though I had it replaced in Nov 2013. It's under warrantee and will be changed Friday PM.
There is a real winter happening in mid Michigan so things are moving slow. Stay tuned.
Final solution. The ICP (OEM) that was installed in November had failed and was replaced last night. I also disconnected my performance chip, Edge Juice with attitude. Truck is running great. Went through the area 3 times from 3 different directions and not even a quiver. Feeling good. I know I eliminated 2 possible sources at once but my problem is solved. Heading north Thursday pulling the snowmobile trailer so I will get to test the mileage. Thanks for everyone who responded. Great experience.
