torque wrench Necessary?

torque wrench Necessary?

just put in my hpop, I don't have torque wrench, can I just tighten the **** out of it? and do I need gasket or oring on front cover plate?

if it is the cover over the gear bolt it is the ford gray glue.

The HPOP drive gear doesn't have a positive grip on the shaft - torque is critical, and the engine will spin before you get it torqued to spec.

Get a torque wrench. You will need it for lots of things. Its one of the most essential tools you can own.

A good torque wrench at that, not some $10 harbor freight thing

Yes, what they said. 96 ft/lbs and the engine turns over at about 85 ft/lbs so you will need someone with a good sized wrench on the crank pulley to keep it from turning the engine over. On the front cover, I used Permatex, black. It is rated to 550 degrees which should be adequate for the that location.
