2002 limited 4x4 7.3l diesel. all stock but used to plow with. for a non lifted excursion is my only option the yellow version of bilsteins. REAR 24-185479 and fronts yellow and blue 24-185462. maybe just go with ford oem?? not look for skyjacker or anything crazy just a good quality replacement. but the bilstein yellow sucks. I see they make black and silver in the 5100 series but they all look to be for lifted trucks. any ideas?
Reasonably priced. My vehicles are not lifted, Rancho's have worked well on my vehicles. The F-250 and the Explorer have the RS5000, the X has the RS9000's.
I am in need of shocks for a stock Ex also. I had the question of opinions between the rancho vs bilsteins, I really don't want to use the OEM, unless they are superior in some way. I have less favorable things about the 5000 ranchos, and would like some opinions. I don't care about the color..... If this is hijacking let me know. Just seems like the same question as the thread title....
I have a clunk in the front end and on a rack everything else looked good, but the shocks are completely covered in rust. (Really old looking).
I installed the OEM Bilsteins in my old F-150 and also now on my 05 Ex. I also use Bilstein for my Porsche and all I can say is that Bilstein have always worked well for me. Rancho I'm sure are good too and perhaps a little cheaper.
