Question with engine light coming on only under load when getting to passing gear or pulling hard.(Does not come on under normal driving) Should I just go ahead and change the ICP and IPR. Have spent money on 2 diag. with ford dealer HPOP they said tested fine but that I needed a new fuel pump which I replaced myself with a NAPA one. And light still comes on.Truck runs fine other the engine light coming on. 1 should ignore light or 2 replace icp and ipr or 3 wait till the whole thing blows
I wouldn't wait for it to blow. The ICP is not very expensive. The IPR is. Should you replace them, I would go with Ford parts. Have you tested the fuel pressure again?
No have not tested the fuel pressure since replacing pump. Are the injector o-rings hard to replace ? What are my biggest concerns if I would leave everything as is
You have to pull the injectors. And, with the mileage on your truck, replacing the injectors really should be considered at this point, IF, you opt to replace the o-rings. Like I said earlier, a good scanner would come in handy right about not. With the right person looking at the data, they could better diagnose the problem. Some problems come up with these trucks that won't necessarily throw a code, or it will throw a code that may narrow the problem down, but not exactly pinpoint the problem. Injectors are an investment. That's why I would want to know for sure what is going on in there before you make that decision. I wonder if there's anyone remotely close to you with an AE?
