Install Expedition EL 2nd row seat

Started on the Excursion today. Drilled out the floor and outer rockers, Need to cut the inner rockers and the windshield pillars and the front part body will be lose. Pulled the rear drive shaft so all we have to do is cut the frame and roll the body, frame and motor and tranny of the frame rack. The 2nd row seats from the Expedition EL showed up today.
Looks like you're going backwards, though, if I understood it correctly. I'd think you'd want to convert the 12 to Excursion...
I'm also super curious as to the "why?" behind this. Why gut a perfectly fine new SD? Isn't the Ex's frame (and title) now considered totalled? Why not graft the back end of the Ex onto the SD?
I'm digging the transformation don't get me wrong, just super curious....
