Cold Start my truck is running by the time it comes up on compression 3 or 4 times. When Hot it will take about twice as many times like 7 or 8 times before it fires. My question is this: will the consistency of the oil cause this? It seems to me that the thinner the oil due to the fact that it's hot would take that much longer or at least somewhat longer to build up the needed pressure to fire.......am I wrong in thinking this? or is this a sign of pending problems? It has been the same since I have owned the truck....about 7k miles, the truck now has 109k on it. Thanks in advance for any input.
Batteries are new, I just replaced them with two new Maxx Ever Start group 65 850 CCA from Walmart, it made no difference it started the same with the old batteries. engine starts and runs fine just cranks a bit longer when hot. FICM volts are never drop below 47.5 and I have never seen them go higher than 48.5. 12 degrees above yesterday morning and the truck fired up and ran fine.
Mine is exactly the same. It's been less than 6k miles since the headgaskets were replaced at which time the standpipes were replaced and my dummy plugs and STC fitting were done just prior to me stretching the headbolts.
Its never an excessively long crank just different between hot and cold.
Time to start collecting the parts to do the nipple cups in the oil rails.

Exactly! instead of firing up in 1 second like when it's cold soaked it may take 2 when it's hot.
