Cold start vs Hot start

I am curious to the cranking time on my truck. When its cold, it starts up post haste, within 2 seconds.

When warmed up, it takes longer, I'd say more toward 4-5 seconds.

I realize these time intervals are not long, but it seems to me that a warmed up truck should start in less time than one that is cold.

Real reason for this thread: I just want to make sure some component is not in need of service.."a stitch in time saves nine (and lots of money)" like maybe the FICM. We are moving in April and will be towing a 8X16 trailer 400 miles loaded up and I wouldnt like any surprises during this trip!

This truck has been a sweetheart so far. I AM impressed with the stock emissions system..I never get a diesel smell from the exhaust which plagued me whenever I drove with my geezer of a 82 Chev 6.2 plowtruck beast!

Thanks,eh?

Brad

My best guess is that it's high pressure oil related. Warmer thinner oil = less pressure to fire the injectors.
