Currently I use my Edge CTS to keep view of any issues with my truck while driving and day to day. From time to time I'll use my AutoEnginuity to check for any codes that CTS doesn't show, plus when I'm needing to check on injectors and everything.
Currently I haven't used my AE for awhile since working so hard, but when I finally had a day off I was using the AE to keep my RPM's high while I was getting ready to change my oil, since I like changing oil after the vehicle is warm. When I ran the code scanner it showed numerous codes that the CTS wasn't showing.
The following codes are:
C1284 Oil Pressure Switch Failure
U2016 Signal Link Short to Ground (Non-SCP)
B1342 ECU is Faulted
P1812 4-Wheel Drive Mode Select Circuit Failure
Driving the truck everything rides fine and can't tell any issues. Is there any thing I can do to fix these issues, with B1342 could I be able to take the truck in and they would be able to re-flash to see if issue goes away or worse case a total replacement of the ECU.
Just my 2cents but I'd make a note and clear them. If they are repeaters I'd check further then. Electronic stuff can glitch from time to time and you could waste a lot of worry and effort chasing ghosts.
Does AE display freeze frame data associated with a error code? It may give you some insight to check under what conditions the codes were set.
Well today I cleared the codes and then got the p1000 code cleared, after a little while everything was coming back. Well my last resort especially using AE was to clear the KAM and then clear codes. Then again after I got the p1000 code cleared the only code now that is showing is the B1342 ECU is Faulted.
Since clearing the KAM and codes and right now only thing showing is the ECU is Faulted right now instead of major $$ for fixing all those codes now I'll get with company I have coverage with to see if they can cover getting the ECU fixed which hopefully is covered under warranty so I won't have to pay a cent.
