The whole dash bezel comes out from the driver's side all the way past the radio and heater controls. Then you have to unplug the headlights, heater controls,4x4 switch etc. Then there's 4 screws that hold the radio to the dash.
I have a Pioneer AVIC-z130 bt
After having to deal with the support service at Pioneer
I would avoid that brand like the plague.
The map data was about 3 years out of date right one of the box
there response was you can BUY an update. This was a NEW unit.
Pioneer NEVER AGAIN
Sean
Thanks for the heads up! I was actually looking at a Pioneer online. There was a Kenwood I was interested in also, maybe I'll go that route. I HATE poor customer service!! I run a business myself and I DO NOT operate that way, I expect to be treated the same as I treat my customers.

Wow, that really sucks. Not that it's that hard to do (and didn't mean to steer you wrong), it's just a PIA, and makes it harder to steal

Don't sweat it buddy, I appreciate your help. It's not too bad, just a little more work than the old style. I'll do a little research and pick up something after the first of the year. I think something with a touch screen that is a little larger than a "traditional size" radio will look better in the truck. Christmas has a way of draining the wallet when you have a 9 yr. old. Lol. It looks like I can get something like I want in the $300.00 to $400.00 dollar range.

If I can get rid of this one I have now my next one will be a Kenwood. They have one
with a nice large screen and minimal buttons. Garmin makes there GPS engine.

I liked the old way to do it. With the way it is now you looking at more dash and wiring damage
if and when someone tries to take it. I can pop the dash off with my finger tips if I really
need to but using a plastic body panel tool is better and easier on the fingers.
OK guys........update. It just started working again. I guess something was sticking in there or something because I just kept putting a disc in there and taking it back out a few times and all of a sudden it went back to working perfectly. Who knows for how long? Lol. Maybe I got lucky? Maybe it will screw up again tomorrow? I'll let it ride and see what happens,if it screws up again I'll just replace it. Time will tell but thanks again for the help just the same!
Glad its working, when my baby girl was 2/3 years old I found 2 dollars in quarters in the CD changer and three bucks in change in my dash vents. I was wondering where my change was going Good luck.
