Good morning guys.

Looks like the deepfreeze is over.

Nicole slid off the road on the ice yesterday with her Expedition. Luckily onto a field approach so a little shoveling and she drove out. Good thing too because my 4x4 is not working on my F250. My front drivers hub does not engage even if I lock in manually. Any ideas?

Good morning Lee! Glad to hear it was easy for Nicole to get out. Is the the hubs on the '07 the same as mine? I am not sure I guess. It's weird they would not lock in manually. May just need to be taken apart and cleaned and get some new grease in the hub.

Morning guys.

Glad to hear you shoveled out the lady, Lee. Better than some tow truck driver coming for a tug.

I do not know on hubs. It will lock in some times but does not seem like completely as if I get into it it will skip. The lock turns freely but may just need to be cleaned. I will need to look up how to take them apart and clean them.

I would not have called a tow truck for that. I still have my Chevy and a lot of neighbors with 200hp tractors.

I would pull the hub out and take a look at it. It should just be 3 Torx screws.

Mine quit running when it was half way off the trailer one morning. It wouldn't restart. I rebuilt the fuel pump and all is well now.

I just hope the Vikings win doesn't keep Frazier around.

is the trasfercase electronic shift or manual? If electronic maybe the motor isn't always switching it to 4x4? On the first and second generation explorers/rangers, if the electic shift motors aren't used much they sieze up. are you able to pull the shift motor and turn it manually? you can on the older explorer/rangers anyways.

Sounds like your hubs need some extra lubrication!
