grille question

will my 78 headlight buckets work with a 1976 grille?

I'm also wondering what other guys have done when swapping to the '73 - '77 grille. I have a '74 shell sitting in my '79 right now. I know the '79 buckets definitely won't bolt in.

nope, you need the 73-77 buckets. I did this swap myself.

There are actually dimples in the core support where the 73-77 buckets bolt up

I did not have the dimples on my original rectangular headlight set up but it was easy enough to drill the rad support and get the '77 buckets on there. I attached the buckets to the shell, set everything in place and mark the support, pretty straight forward.

And I smile everytime I look at it!
