So my 2004 F350 Crew cab recently had its keyless entry pad go out. It doesn't light up or anything. looking for some direction on where to go...
All other eletrical items work on the truck including the keyless entry fob, I have tried pushing the unlock, and lock all combinations and nothing happens. it was a sudden death and didn't slowly stop working it was working one day and the next it wasn't.
Is yours a surface mount keypad or a nested keypad? Both types came from Ford on Super Duties of that era.
The surface mount (on the door) type has separate batteries inside the keypad housing. The nested (in the door) type draws power from the vehicle battery.
Great! Glad I could help. The plastic housing probably prys off without having to remove the double stick tape surface mount. I've never done it personally, but I've read over the years that the batteries in the surface mount keypad need replacing from time to time. No doubt there are instructions online, or even in the owner's manual.
