Installing Injectors
Before I started the reseal process I phoned Ford as the have changed several injectors over the past on warrantee. Last year the changed 1 and 3.
All the injectors went in fine and all the same except for #3. When I put it in the hole it seemed to not go down as far as the rest, and when tightening it seemed to take a lot more turns to seat the injector.
I removed and got a mirror and flash light and there was something at the bottom of the hole. Fished out two pieces of plastic, Black plastic, Black plastic from a broken injector plug . F@#%en Ford Mechanic
I checked all my plugs and all were intact. Who ever changed #1 and 3 last year must have broke the plug and not removed the broken pieces from my motor.
I want to phone Ford and let them know my findings, But will it do any good??
Any ways, Please remember, When working on these things, TAKE YOUR TIME and BE AWARE of anything not quite right.
Cheers
It amazes me the Few, but very important tools (and good quality tools ) required to dismantle the top of the motor.
That probably fell in there when you pulled the Inject
If it was in there before it wouldn't have sealed right and been Melted then putting Combustion gasses in the fuel rail I just don't think it would have gone far but never know
