Do any of you guys know how to make a 300 Inline Six sound good? I don't want it to sound like them s***** sounding ricers that drive around. I want it to sound really good and manly. I've heard one with no muffler and it sounded pretty good. Do any of you guys have mufflers on yours that sound good? If you have a video link could you post it?
Thanks
Also if I do remove the muffler will it reduce my performance? Oh and I want this truck to be LOUD! I love it when I'm inside a building and can here my buddies' trucks fire up.
3 into 2 Borla SS Header, 6 Feet of 2 1/2" to 3" Pipe w/ FlowMaster 40's to the Back Bumper.

Well I have been on this boat plenty of times I went threw three mufflers. Flowmaster sounded awesome but of course it was stock then and then after my rebuild I did dynomax ultraflow that lasted a week. Magnaflow was next on the list finally found the right sound for the mildly built six. Then I gave way with my hedman header and in went the efi manifolds and then true dual Flowmaster 40 series at idle it sounded great you really heard the cam but at high rpm it was horrible. Then removed those and went back to Magnaflow dual in single out dumped before the rear axle I love the bassy tone it has in third gear nothing annoying what so ever. Everyone has there own personal preference. Its all in the owner ear and remember it no v8 but they'll last forver.
Just my $0.02 but my old truck had a built 300 with headers, dual 2.5" pipes and turbo mufflers. It sounded good until you got up in the RPM range(4K) and then it just sounded "ricey". My crew has a stock 300 with the mainfold and a 2" straight pipe, and it just sounds like a truck who's muffler fell off.
I think my old setup with some 3" tips would have made it sound a little more mellow.
