Replacement Seats vs. Seat Covers

Im sure this seems like a simple topic to some but I am hitting a wall and I think it may be my ignorance.

I just pulled the trigger on a beast 1994 F150 Super Cab 4x4 Eddie Bauer. The previous owner had replaced the front bucket seats with seats from a "late 80s Bronco." There are a few tears in the new seats and I want to buy custom covers for them. I am having a hard time pinning down the exact seat style in order to order the covers. They are bucket seats with no headrest and inside arm rests.

The other optiono of course is buy replacement seats with headrests (which I would prefer) but I am having a heard time finding a soure for seats or even guessing at a price compared to just covers.

Any links or advice is greatly appreciated.

If they have armrests, then they are called "Captain's Chairs". You might get some correct EB Captain's Chairs out of this Bronco:

Do the captains chairs out of the bronco bolt right in to a single cab 1993 f150 with a bench? If not what mods will have to be made?

there IS a third option.. find an auto seat upholsterer, and have them REDONE. The guy we have around here, is pretty darn reasonable... and it'll look better than a seat cover, and last longer, than another set of USED seats!

Thanks for all the replies. Im not sure if buckets or captains will bolt straight in after a bench seat. I would assume so but don't know. I would be interested to know though because I would prefer a 40/20/40 or 60/40 bench seat in my SCab instead of these Captains.

In lieu of that I will definitely check upholsterers in my area.

What did you end up doing with the seats? I'm interested in finding out if the seats swap as I have a 97 F250 with a broken bench seat that I want to change out to the captains seats if I can ever find some.

As Hankster48 suggests reupholster the seats. I recently got a bid of $700 to replace the carpet and reupholster the seats (bench) on a 87 XLT Lariat Single Cab which came with the soft velour material. The shop works mostly on antiques and classics and are highly recommended. I cannot find any seat covers either because of the center armrest/cup holder.

I haven't made any moves on the seats yet. I am considering replacing with a 60/40 or 40/20/40 bench if I can find one.

I am with you in that once completed the interior is almost "factory new".
My $700 estimate is reasonable for the quality job. Interestingly, the carpet is more than the seats.

Im not going to worry about the carpet. I will likely rip out the carpet when it gets too worn (still in great shape), and use Bed Armor or Herculiner to coat the floors.
