Thanks. I like the look of those years also. Especially with those Euro grille inserts. Picked up my '89 XJ-S today from my mechanic's house as I dropped off the Jetta there so he can install a radiator., but did not have time to get it off the trailer, so it is sitting in storage tonight. The oil pan arrived today for the XJ6, but I don't know when it will get installed, as my mechanic is a pretty busy man. May wait until after November 1st, when he gets his shop open.
Going to try to take the XJ-S out tomorrow and see if I can get it to stop smoking by driving it a few miles. I am hoping that it is only carbon deposits in the bank that was not firing earlier. That would be sweet, and inexpensive if it works.

hey fellas. happy october and cooler temps to ya'. all is quiet here on san leandro. our dumpster is overflowing with boxes, furniture, and carpet. rosie asked me yesterday if i mentioned to you guys that i got new tires on the snow white. i told her i didn't, so here i am today, telling you, that i got new tires. i went from 315/75/16's to 285/75/16's. i spent just over 1500$ at big o tires and i am glad i got new wheels. the old ones had dry rot, lots of cracking and the front right kept leaking. i even got a fifth matching spare that actually fits under the bed where the spare is 'sposed to go. granted, i didn't mount it under there with stock hardware. i just locked it up with a kryptonite chain lock and snugged it up against frame with two ratchet straps. i think it'll do just fine there.
anyhow, hope you guys are doing well across the miles. starting to shop for chains and prep for snow in the sierras!!
cheers guys and gals!

Hello Clint. What is snow? I hear people talk about it all winter long, and never see any of it. Must be a big conspiracy.
On a different note, just got a call from my mechanic, and the Jetta is going to need a clutch as well as the radiator. So it looks like I will be making less profit on this one then anticipated. The black Jag is going to need a head gasket replaced, and that repair will cost 3 times what I paid for it, so I will try and sell that for a profit, but it may sit on CL for quite sometime. Looks like I will be taking my mechanic with me in the future to go look at potential cars to flip. Don't need anymore surprises.
