Started the XJ-S up today and got some good news. Ran it for about 10-15 minutes, and it did not smoke at all from the tail pipe. Still some light smoke from under the hood, but the tail pipe was smoke free. And while letting it run, I turned on the AC and it blew cold air, which was a surprise, because the PO told me the AC did not work. If that was not good enough, I opened the glove box, and found the original owners manual, and three small pouches with service records from a Jaguar dealer in Sherman Oaks, dating all the way back to 2005.

I have it up for sale on CL, but so far no hits. Doesn't really bother me none, because deep down inside, this is the one I want to keep. If I sell the white one, then I will keep this one. The white one does not have the negative reputation like the V12 has, still it is a Jag, and a lot of people are scared to buy one. May have to list them on Autotrader instead, totally different buyer mentality there.

Joe, how can you be broke when you are working seven days a week? That is a lot of overtime. Be glad you have the weekend off. I am sure it will not happen very often.

I had a good day. Finally got the XJ-S off the trailer, with a spotter so I didn't miss the ramps. LOL, and then proceeded to drive all over the place, getting a stereo installed, a smog check, and of course, lunch. Put 29 miles on it, and it never smoked once. I am a happy camper. Even though it did not pass smog, I am able to drive it with no smoke coming out the tail pipe. Need to replace the gas cap and both back cats before it will pass smog. So I will do that Monday or Tuesday, and then get it registered.

Oh jeez, sorry to hear that Jim, that's gonna cost an arm and a leg.

You have to have OEM cats, because aftermarket cats are illegal, and da bums know they have people like that by the short hairs.
