Dear Ford Dealer, I'm interested in buying that new 1985 Ford you have on the lot.. However, since we are in New York and get a bit of snow I would prefer trac-lock to help get around. Since you gotta pull it appart anyway can you guys bump it up to 3.73's? I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere anyway. Do all that and I will pay the price you guys have on it.

Any documenting would be done by the dealership, and might make it onto some sales slip somewhere. Today, there are OASIS reports and computer records are kept of this kind of stuff, technology hadn't evolved to that point yet back then.
Other than that, I wouldn't expect anything.
Dealerships will go through a fair amount of work when there's a customer with money in his teeth out back waiting....
