Brake lights and marker lights all working, and they flash quickly when I turn on the hazards. The only problem I have found is that the turn signals blink very slow or stick with the light on. It just started a few nights ago, been doing it ever since. I swapped the relay with another, same condition. It was not a new relay, so I suppose I could have swapped bad for bad. The lever does not turn off the turn signals after making the turn, so I always have to do that myself or look dumb driving with the blinker on. Fixing that will require getting inside the steering column I think, uncharted territory there. Is the slow blink part of that or do you think its just a relay gone bad?
When you say "they" flash, what flashes? Your sentence is structured in a way that makes it sound like your marker lights are flashing; marker lights are the lights on the sides of the fenders and the bed - I'm assuming you meant turn signals and don't actually have any issue with your hazards.
Are you saying the turn signals blink at one rate when engaged via the emergency switch, yet blink a different rate when engaged via the turn signal lever?
" Flashers " are rated for lamp load . A hazard flasher will flash at a different rate than a standard old style 2 lamp flasher . Your flasher for your turn signals may be the wrong one . Look at the lamp rating , and go from there . Best of luck !
Yes, I meant the turn signals not side markers, sorry for the confusion. The hazards flash front and rear at a fast rate, probably due to the truck being setup for towing and having the extra lights on the trailer. The turn signals have gone from a normal rate to very slow or getting stuck mid-flash with the light on. I will get a new relay and see what happens, could be a cheap fix.
Regarding getting the cam (I think that's what its called) fixed, so the lever goes back to off position after making a turn and turns the signals off, is there a walkthrough for that? What am I up against as far as difficulty?
I understand the problem now. The problem is likely isolated to the flasher itself, or built up resistance in the turn signal switch.
I don't recommend installing a replacement cam; the wiring is too cramped to get a decent splice without pinching anything. If the cam needs replaced, I recommend replacing the switch entirely.

Usually this involves replacing the entire switch but Dorman has a replacement turn signal cancel cam in their "HELP" product line. Usually the reason they don't work is one of the plastic "ears" has broken off.

I am up for this mikeo0o0o0 as a first try since I have a tilt wheel and a 4 spd. And I like the option to try and keep that. And if it doesn't work I have another complete steering column to hot swap in.
