Yea the twin pipe down pipe is so that it clears the fire wall and pass side up pipe, works good. The boost guage is installed but have to get fittings to hook it to the boost pipe. Have some pics of the old pile needs paint, and guages.

Nice I'd drive it. want to trade? I have a 92 corolla I'd give you for it.
Why didn't you built anything to protect your head lights and grill on your bumper?

If you are getting 900* EGT at 1400rpm i would say you have royal crap load of fuel or a lot of exhaust leaks/boost leaks. Now if that is a typo and is supposed to be 3400rpm, that would make way more sense lol.

The bumper is still a work in progress, gonna build a skid plate to protect the rad. I also dont do much 4x4in with it, just haulin dirt bikes and snowmobiles up the mountain. 900 degrees farenheit at 1400 rpm in the exh manifold means its still runnin not too hot and has room for fuel, and has good boost at that rpm. If it was running 1200 degrees then id be backin out of it. The lower the rpm the less boost you have to cool the exh.

Maybe so, but what is your EGT at 3000 rpm's. Seems high to me even if it is safe temp. Are you luggen it at that rpm?

My max rpm that I run it is 2400 rpms, and at any rpm above 1400 I only see 950 degrees max at full throttle. At 1400 rpm at full throttle is 900 degrees in 5th on a hill. If im just cruising down the highway its running 500 degrees at 1800 rpm/100 kph. Im also not seeing any black smoke when im into it so its not too hot.

So why you keeping the rpms so low? These trucks don't make any power down that far and you definatly need more fuel, heck I wish without an intercooler Id stay that low on EGTs (even with Im normally at/above that)

I run it low since I like the pull of low end torque, and hate revving a diesel. Also my cam is biased for low end torque. I just hooked my boost guage up and its makin an instant 5 pounds boost at 1500, and 12-13 at 2300 rpms. Looks like its time to turn the pump up.

Pistons are stock mahle 21.5 to 1 hard anodized units, since I want to have the most low end torque possible. The cam is very different from what anybodys used it has stock duration and lift, but I have changed the lsa to 100 degrees, and closed the intake valve 7 degrees sooner to hold in more boost at bdc. The exh side of the cam was only changed by 1 degree from stock. It also increases on paper the dcr by a bit. When I was running it n/a the off idle torque was better, and decreased exh smoke at same timing and fuel rate.

I understand your approach to your build with the cam profile adjusted to try for more low end torque. I went the other way on My build. Lower CR, More cam lift, more duration, upgraded valve springs, Lightened NA rods, port work on the heads increased oil pressure, 90cc pump, HX40w all to make it live at the High end of the RPM range. Mine will be pushing a 36' Motor Home with a 4 speed Alison trans in a Gillig Buss chassis. It will be on the road in a week or two I hope... Still a lot of work to be done to wrap up the swap. We need some more performance numbers from your truck to get some better Idea how it compares to other truck builds. I will be doing some vids of mine when its done....Then I will be driving it from WA to AZ in November or December...So we will see how it Runs then.

So in otherwords, you advanced an already severely advanced cam even further?...

Not trying to be a dick, please don't take it that way, im all about this sort of testing... However, why do you think such things are better for our engines? The last thing we need is more dynamic compression with a turbo setup...

Not saying youre a liar lol.. but i have a hard time believing "good boost" from a gen I psd turbo at 1400. granted theres lots a variation here, but the turbo on our 97 doesnt do squat until 2k+, its not until 2600 that it actually starts pulling.
