Charlie, after you spray the microbaloon/paint formula, do you apply any kind of foil lined insulation or sound proofing over the top of it?

Sure, it's all up to you and what you hope to achieve. I put Dynamat Extreme over mine followed by closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl. This covers the thermal barrier coating, the panel vibration, and the sound energy that may pass through these layers. Interior upholstery, carpet, and sound absorption material in the headliner take care of any interior noise...makes the sound system sound great.

In this photo of my 40 Ford coupe you can see the grey coating under the newly applied Noico sound deadening mat. This is the LizardSkin thermal barrier. There will be one more product applied before the headliner...EZ Cool Insulation to add another layer of thermal insulation and some sound deadening to block the reflected sound energy within the interior.

I delivered all the painted components of this 53 F100 to the owner last May-October. From what I have heard everything is still sitting in his garage unassembled. I am not sure where he got the seatbelt mounts. I know that he is in his mid-70s and is a long-haul trucker so it may be that he just has other things on his plate or perhaps he has lost interest. It's a shame to see it in pieces, assembly could be easily done in a weekend.

Hopefully in a weekend or two I'll have some pics of my truck getting assembled! I'm finishing up the painting of the last few pieces - the bed cross members!!

I'll probably put another layer of clear on a few of the pieces to make sanding easier, but it's making progress, even if slower than I had hoped!
