Blinking overdrive light
Have friend on road in 2001 auto trams. Just crested steep hill and overdrive light blinking. Stopped at top and idled in park and light went out. No gauges on board. Will high temp set a blinking overdrive light?

It means a code is stored, dunno if simple high temp will do it. If the fluid looks/smells good and no other symptoms I'd keep on trucking and pull the codes when convenient. When hot the front seal can leak some fluid, then when cool it can re-seal well enough to get down the road to the next over heating event. Top it off if needed.

Yes it will, but so will at least 50 other things, too. The ONLY way to know why it flashed is to get the codes read. The code will stay in memory for about a month after the last time the light flashed. Auto parts stores CANNOT read these codes.
